Menorca is the quietest of the Balearic Islands and a UNESCO biosphere reserve. Crystal-clear coves, a trail around the whole island and unique prehistoric sites make it perfect if you want nature and calm.
Not to be missed
- The Camí de Cavalls, the coastal trail around the whole island
- The southern coves, such as Macarella and Turqueta
- The Talayotic sites, traces of the island’s prehistory
- The natural harbour of Maó and the old town of Ciutadella
- Favàritx lighthouse on the north coast
Practical tips
- In summer car access to some coves is limited: check buses and car parks.
- By kayak or boat you reach coves with no road.
- Taste Mahón cheese and try a horse ride along the Camí de Cavalls.
When to go
May to October for the sea; spring and autumn for walking and riding.
