Cookies and privacy settings
In short
Turpronto uses technical cookies and storage: they sign you into your account, protect the site and remember choices you make. We use no advertising or profiling cookies of our own, no social media pixels and no analytics tools such as Google Analytics. The law does not require consent for technical cookies (Article 122 of the Italian Privacy Code and the Garante guidelines of 10 June 2021). The only non-technical cookies are those of our partners Tiqets, Klook and GetYourGuide and of Travelpayouts: they are enabled only if you accept in the banner, and you can change your mind at the bottom of this page.
What we store on your device
- better-auth.session_token (with the __Secure- prefix on HTTPS): our site’s technical cookie that keeps you signed in. It lasts 7 days and renews while you use the site; it disappears when you sign out.
- better-auth.dont_remember: a technical cookie used only if you choose not to stay signed in; it lasts until you close the browser.
- Temporary security cookies during sign-in with Google or other services: they protect the hand-over between their site and ours and last a few minutes.
- turpronto.comparison-currency.v1 (browser storage, localStorage): remembers the currency you chose for viewing prices. It stays until you clear the site data or choose “Reset to EUR”. It holds no profile data and is not used for advertising.
- turpronto.help-panel.v1 (browser storage, localStorage): remembers whether you left the “Help” panel open or closed in your account area. It holds only “open” or “closed” and stays until you clear the site data.
- turpronto.partner-consent.v1 (browser storage, localStorage): remembers whether you accepted or refused the partner cookies in the banner. It holds only “yes” or “no” and stays until you clear the site data or change your choice at the bottom of this page.
Other companies’ sites
Some actions briefly take you to another company’s site: payment on Stripe, sign-in with Google (or other services), directions on Google Maps. Their cookies and privacy notices apply there. Our site does not load their tracking tools on our pages.
The Google map loads on our pages only if you press “Show the map”. From then on Google receives your IP address and may use its own cookies or similar tools, under its privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy). If you do not press the button, nothing is loaded from Google.
Our pages show the attractions of our partners Tiqets, Klook and GetYourGuide. Their widget loads by itself only if you accepted the partner cookies in the banner; otherwise only if you press “Show attractions with photos and prices”. From then on the partner and Travelpayouts (which runs the affiliate programmes) receive your IP address and may use their own cookies, also to recognise that you come from Turpronto and pay us a commission; the same applies if you open a link to one of them. With the same consent Travelpayouts’ “Drive” code also loads: it recognises the links on our pages that lead to the partners so that bookings are credited to us. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. If you do not accept, do not press and do not open the links, nothing is loaded from them.
How to manage them
You can sign out and delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block technical cookies you will not be able to sign in, but you can still browse the site. Partner cookies are enabled only after your “Accept” in the banner: you can refuse them or change your mind whenever you like at the bottom of this page, under “Current settings”. If we ever add other non-essential cookies, we will ask for your consent first and update this page.
