Cortina d’Ampezzo is the “Queen of the Dolomites”, between the Tofane and the Cinque Torri. It hosted the Winter Olympics in 1956 and those of Milano Cortina 2026: in winter it is a ski destination, in summer for hiking.
Practical tips
- In summer the cable cars run reduced hours: check before you go.
- For the Tre Cime you need a bus or shuttle on busy days: book or arrive early.
- In winter the roads require chains or snow tyres.
When to go
From December to March for skiing; from June to September for hiking.
